CLEARFIELD -- Police busted a scam involving an employee stealing and selling products over the internet and to friends and neighbors.

Officers were tipped off last week and quickly discovered at least three people were involved.

Clearfield police say Alisha Dominguez, who worked in the Warranty Department at Lifetime Products, would ship merchandise like storage sheds, basketball hoops, swing sets and tables to friends and neighbors as "warranty replacements."

Alisha's husband, Daniel, 31, would retrieve the merchandise and sell them to neighbors or on KSL Classifieds claiming his wife was getting the products at cost. [CLICK HERE to read KSL Classifieds fraud policy]

Alisha's mother, Teresa Yanez, a former employee of Lifetime and currently a custodian for the Davis County School District, would also sell the merchandise.

Police are currently investigating 48 "warranty" claims exceeding $50,000, but believe there could be more. They also say more arrests could be made.

Alisha Dominguez was arrested Monday at work and booked into the Davis County Jail for 2nd degree felony theft. Yanez was arrested Tuesday at her Clearfield home and charged with 3rd degree felony theft. Both have since posted bail.

Police say Daniel Dominguez, a current parolee, is on the run.

If you have any information on Daniel's whereabouts or believe you may have purchased a stolen Lifetime product call the Clearfield Police Department at 801-525-2806.
