SALT LAKE CITY - A movie shot in Utah will premiere on the Disney Channel Friday night.

"Hatching Pete" was filmed at Hillcrest High School.

It's about a shy student who gets brave when he puts on the school mascot rooster suit. Disney says cheerleaders, basketball players and others from Ogden, Ben Lomond, Roy and Hillcrest High are in the movie.

Sterling Tanner, a senior at Hillcrest, says it was shot last year. "(There were) lots of film crews walking around, stuff like that," he said.

"It's interesting. It's pretty cool. I want to watch it to say, ‘That's my school,'" he added. "One day when I have kids I'll be like, ‘Check that out, that's my high school.'"

Sophomore Rachel Tanner will watch the movie with her little brother.

"He's been really excited. Every time we see (the commercials) he goes, ‘That's Rachel's school, that's Rachel's school,'" she said.

"It's kind of cool to look at it and say, ‘Oh I know that classroom,' or ‘That's right by my locker,'" she said.

Other Disney project filmed in Utah include all three "High School Musical" movies at East High, and the ABC reality show "High School Musical: Get in the Picture" at Murray High.
