HEBER CITY — A man was arrested Tuesday after police found nearly a pound of marijuana in his car.

Romel Garcia, 18, was arrested after police pulled him over about 11 p.m. near 300 S. Main Street in Heber City, according to Heber City Police Department spokeswoman Tammy Thacker.

During the traffic stop, police found 3/4 of a pound of marijuana, officials said. Police also found a “significant amount” of other drug paraphernalia, including drug distribution equipment and cash, according to a Facebook post from Heber City Police Department officials.

Police previously may have witnessed Garcia distributing drugs from his black Ford Explorer while he was in a parking lot, according to Thacker. He pulled out of the parking lot and police pulled him over, she said.

Garcia was arrested and booked into the Wasatch County Jail for investigation of drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and other traffic violations, officials said.
