SALT LAKE CITY — There are less than 100 days left till the college football season begins, and the TV networks have started to release some of the upcoming game schedules.

For Utah, ESPN will be a common network to host games as four of the five games announced will be on the network, including three games — vs. Washington, vs. Arizona and at UCLA — that will air on the main ESPN channel. Utah’s other two games will be featured on ESPNews (at Northern Illinois) and on the Pac-12 Networks (vs. Weber State).

Utah opens the season at home on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. against a budding Weber State team that made it to the quarterfinals of the FCS tournament. The Wildcats have improved each season under the leadership of former Ute coach Jay Hill, who is in his fifth season with the Wildcats.

Although Utah has traditionally played its three nonconference games before entering Pac-12 play, Utah will only play two nonconference games before the Pac-12 slate, where it will welcome Washington at home in an ESPN bout at 8 p.m. Utah will finish the season against in-state rival BYU on Nov. 24 in Salt Lake City. Game time and its TV partner have not been announced.

The Utes will host six games at Rice-Eccles Stadium this season, with its homecoming game being played on Oct. 20 against South division rival USC. Other teams coming into Rice-Eccles include Arizona (Friday, Oct. 12) and Oregon (Nov. 10).
