EARTH — What would the world sound like if you turned the map into sheet music and played it on the piano?

I have the answer for you here.

Pretty amazing, right? Don't answer that, it was rhetorical, because the answer is obviously yes. That was the best video you've ever watched.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

Unfortunately, I hate to say it, and you might be surprised to hear, but that is not actually what the world map would sound like if you played it on a piano. I know. I'm sorry.

That video, which is brilliant and went viral this week on Twitter, has been altered. Here's the original video (which, don't get me wrong, is very cool and also deserving of your time).

The video was created by YouTuber John Keats last year and is the actual version of what the world map would sound like if you turned the continents into music notes. It's definitely a cool project, and though Keats doesn't provide many details about how he put this together, his channel is full of other musical maps. If you have time, I'd recommend listening to "Musical U.S. States," or even the (real) version of the musical map of Africa.
