PARK CITY — When you think of the Sundance Film Festival, you may think about on-screen performances or transformations.

For Park City, a real-world transformation is underway as the city prepares to go from ski town to Hollywood hotspot.

On Monday, the sounds of hammering and drilling could be heard as storefronts turned into VIP lounges or swag stores. For some locals, it means big business.

"I'm very excited! Just look at all this going up," said Park City resident Reed Brua.

Brua is gearing up for an avalanche of interest in his classic-car riding service, and said celebrities are already calling for a lift.

"I got a couple, but I can't tell you (who), " Brua said. "We have to be discreet."

Discretion may not be at the top of Danielle Turner's list.

"I would totally freak out if I saw Madonna," she said with a laugh. "I sold a T-shirt to Jeff Foxworthy, and told him a joke."

Turner works at Backscratcher Tees on Main Street. This time of year the staff is counting on customers with money in their pockets and stars in their eyes.

"Everybody is looking to be discovered," Turner said.

Although, most will just leave with a T-shirt.

The festival begins Thursday. For more information, including how to get tickets, visit www.sundance.org/festivals.
