OREM — A man driving south on northbound I-15 sustained serious injuries after crashing head-on into a pickup truck late Friday night.
The accident occurred when a man in a Subaru Forester collided with a Ford pickup near milepost 271 at 10:50 p.m., according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The crash closed all northbound I-15 lanes for two hours.
Officials said the Subaru driver was transported to Utah Valley Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck elected to go to the hospital with a family member or friend to be checked out but was not seriously injured, UHP said.
According to UHP, open containers of alcohol were found inside the Subaru.
