FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a Layton man accused of fatally shooting his roommate last year has pleaded guilty.

The Standard-Examiner reports 20-year-old Christopher Scott Fritz entered a guilty plea to one count of first-degree felony murder.

His sentencing hearing is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 17 in Farmington.

Court records show Fritz could be facing a prison sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

Fritz pleaded not guilty in the case in April hearing.

Authorities say 24-year-old Taylor VanCamp was shot multiple times last Dec. 19.

Witnesses say Fritz and VanCamp got into an argument and began fighting.

Fritz says he had a black eye and bloody nose after the fight.

He told police that he pulled a handgun out of a drawer, went to Vancamp's room and shot him several times.
