AROUND THE SHIELD — It’s the second week of the NFL preseason, and plenty of former local college standouts are trying to make an NFL roster.

For some of them, it’s working.

Here are some of the highlights from Week 2, which wraps up Monday with New York-Cleveland.

Packers 21, Redskins 17

For the second week in a row, former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill scored a touchdown in an NFL preseason game.

This time, it was the game winner.

Hill rushed 23 yards for a fourth-quarter score to put the Packers up 21-17, shrugging off a defender and stiff-arming another en route to the end zone as the Packers rallied past the Redskins 21-17.
