MIDVALE — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening in an accident near 7500 South and State Street, officials confirmed.

At about 8:30 p.m., a 29-year-old was traveling southbound on State Street on his motorcycle, Unified police detective Ken Hansen said. As the motorcyclist was going through the intersection at 7500 South, another vehicle made a left turn in front of him causing the motorcycle to crash into that car. The vehicle continued through the intersection and collided with a second vehicle, Hansen said.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and died, Hansen said. The passengers in the two cars were not injured.

The Utah Department of Transportation temporarily closed all directions of 7500 South at State Street while police investigated.

Police have not identified the man, pending family notification.
