Where to watch fireworks in Utah for July 24

SALT LAKE CITY — July 24 will mark 170 years since the Mormon pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley and began their settlement here. Utah has since grown and developed rapidly from the remote area it once was.

The Beehive State now takes the day to celebrate and honor the pioneers who settled here. Many cities celebrate with barbecues, swimming, parades, family activities and, of course, fireworks.

Here are 18 fireworks show taking place throughout Utah this Pioneer Day weekend:

Northern Utah

Bountiful Handcart Days: Fireworks kick off Friday at 10 p.m. and can be viewed at Mueller Park Junior High School, 955 E. 1800 South. Admission is free.

Logan Pioneer Day celebration: Fireworks begin Monday at 10 p.m. at Willow Park, 419 W. 700 South after a day filled with family activities.

North Logan 24th of July Pioneer Celebration: The daylong celebration ends with fireworks beginning at 10 p.m. Monday at Elk Ridge Park, 1060 E. 2500 North. The other pioneer celebrations will be taking place at the same location.

Ogden Pioneer Days: Following the 7:30 p.m. rodeo on Monday, fireworks will be held at the Ogden Pioneer Stadium, 668 17th St.

Tremonton City Days Fiesta: Fireworks will be hosted after a day full of events on Saturday at 10 p.m. at Jeanie Stevens Park, North 1000 West.

Salt Lake area

Butlerville Days: Fireworks will be launched Saturday evening as part of Cottonwood’s two-day event, Butlerville Days. Other family-friendly events will be taking place beforehand.

Annual Liberty Park Pioneer Day fireworks show: Herman Franks Park, near Liberty Park, will be hosting its annual fireworks show beginning at 10 p.m. located at 1371 S. 700 East.

Salt Lake Bees game: Pioneer Day fireworks will follow the Bees vs. Albuquerque Isotopes game. The game begins at 6:35 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online.

Central Utah

Fairview City Pioneer Day celebration: Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. on Saturday at the derby arena following the demolition derby. Tickets to enter the arena can be purchased online.

Orem Pioneer Day Pyromusical: Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. Monday after a festive pioneer performance taking place beforehand. Admission is free. Blankets and chairs are recommended. The event will be located at University Place, 575 E. University Pkwy.

Orem Owlz game: Pioneer Day fireworks will be launched after the Owlz game against the Billings Mustangs. Tickets can be purchased online and range from $5 - $12. It begins at 7 p.m. with fireworks following the game.

Mapleton Pioneer Day activities: Fireworks take off at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday at Ira Allan Park, 1600 S. 800 West. A concert and family-friendly activities take place beforehand. Admission is free.

Spanish Fork Fireworks Spectacular: Fireworks will be lit at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the Sports Park, 295 Volunteer Drive. Bringing lawn chairs and blankets are recommended. A concert will take place before the fireworks show.

Eastern Utah

Heber Valley Charleston 24th of July Celebration: Fireworks begin Monday at dark at the Charleston Park, 3454 S. 3400 West in Heber City.

Kamas Valley Fiesta Days: The fireworks show will be held the Friday and Saturday evening, honoring the city’s pioneer ancestors.

Southern Utah

Beaver Pioneer Days: After a full day of celebrations, fireworks will be lit at 9:45 p.m. Monday at the Tushar Mountain Baseball Complex, 600 N. 900 East.

Dixie Celebration Parade: The fireworks will be starting at 9:30 p.m. Monday as part of the Days of '47 event at St. George’s community center, 200 N. 300 East.

Pioneer Days in Monroe: Fireworks will be lit at Monroe Middle School, 300 E. Center St., starting at 9:30 p.m.
