EAGLE MOUNTAIN — An overturned tanker forced the closure of state Route 73 for several hours near Eagle Mountain, Wednesday morning, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office.

The accident happened around 9 am, and it took crews several hours to clean up 2,800 gallons of road sealant spilled on the road.

State Route 73 near Mt. Airey Drive reopened after 1 p.m., Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon said. Eastbound traffic was rerouted at Ranches Parkway.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.
