MILLCREEK — An elderly woman died after her car crashed into the side of an abandoned bowling alley on Friday at 3:30 p.m., officials reported.

According to police, an 83-year-old woman driving a white Subaru westbound on 3300 South ran a red light and struck a white Lexus driving south on Highland Drive. The Subaru glanced off the Lexus and continued westbound, Unified police detective Ken Hansen said.

The Subaru then crashed into the side of the abandoned bowling alley, which now houses the Valeo Home Health and Hospice Center.

The woman, later identified by police as Sharon Sleight, died at the scene. No other drivers were injured in the crash, officials said.

Investigators closed the intersection in all directions for about an hour.
