SALT LAKE CITY — The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a flood warning for the Northern Cache County area, specifically in areas near the Logan River.
The warning, issued Monday afternoon, says "rapid warming has led to significant snowmelt causing the Logan River to rise substantially. This is expected to cause minor flooding on the Logan River."
The NWS said the river should reach flood stage by 11 p.m. Tuesday, and remain at that level or higher through Monday, June 5.
People are cautioned to keep children and pets away from the river, as "water is running fast and cold, and can sweep children and pets away," the warning says.
Campers are also cautioned to avoid the area.
