FRANKLIN COUNTY, Idaho — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reports they have found the body of 19-year-old Bailand Johnson in the Cub River.

EastIdahoNews.com reports Johnson had been missing since Thursday evening, when he left for a hike with his dog and didn’t return. His car was later found in the area of the Albert Moser campground near the Cub River.

The sheriff’s office says it appears Johnson fell in the river and drowned, according to a post on the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

“Our hearts are heavy with sympathy for the family and friends,” the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook. “We appreciate the compassion from our community and all the volunteers who showed up and were turned away so they wouldn’t interfere with the search dogs.”
