ST. GEORGE — Two boys who police believe were taken by their father Wednesday are now in Mexico, and federal officials are working to locate them, authorities said Thursday.
St. George police said Jesus Lopez, 11, and Angel Lopez, 9, are in Mexico with their father, Ricardo Flores. Police said Wednesday that Flores was recently divorced from the boys’ mother and were taken without permission.
Police said Thursday that the vehicle they were believed to be in, a 2007 Dodge Caliber, was sold to a person in Mesquite, Nevada, and that the children were taken to Mexico.
Police said they are working with the FBI and Homeland Security to locate the boys.
