SPANISH FORK — Police have arrested two men in their 20s who they believe robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Spanish Fork Saturday morning.

Nicholas Mobley, 23, from Denver, Colorado, and Gregorio Efrain Gomez, 25, from Grand Junction, Colorado, were booked into Utah County Jail in connection with robbery offenses.

Around 1:30 p.m., a Price police officer noticed two males in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Price. Police said Mobley and Gomez were in a vehicle and tried to hide from the officer as he was patrolling the parking lot. The men left the parking lot in their car and the officer pulled them over in connection with a traffic violation.

Police said during the traffic stop, Mobley and Gomez originally provided the officer with false names and were arrested for providing false identities. While searching the car, police found a note matching a similar description to the one used in a Wells Fargo robbery in Spanish Fork Saturday morning. Police also found several $50 and $100 bills in the car.

Hours earlier Spanish Fork police responded to a bank robbery at 251 E. 1000 North. They said a man entered the bank and gave teller a note which said, "This is a robbery- provide me with $50s and $100s." Police said the word "gun" was also on the note, though no firearm was displayed during the alleged robbery. No employees were injured during the incident and the man fled southbound on foot, officials were uncertain if he had a vehicle.

Police believe Mobley robbed the bank and identified Gomez as the alleged driver of a car that was parked in the area near the Wells Fargo bank, police said.

Charges for both men are pending.
