1. Woman drowns trying to save dogs in Tanner Park stream

A 58-year-old woman drowned Sunday in a cold, fast-moving creek in Tanner Park while trying to rescue her dogs.

The woman and her husband were walking their dogs when their two pets jumped into the creek and were swept downstream just before 6 p.m. The woman fell when she tried to save the dogs and went under the water, said Unified Police Lt. Dan McConkey.

2. New LDS temple in France opens to the public

A temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in France is a dream come true for French Mormons, who have waited decades for a house of worship in their country.

3. Police seek public’s help in solving Easter Sunday homicide of South Jordan man

Police are trying to locate a vehicle that was seen on surveillance video near 3200 S. 900 West, where a man was shot and killed on Easter Sunday.

Matthew Holt, 46, of South Jordan, was found shot to death in a parked car in the parking lot of a closed business around 2:45 p.m.

The vehicle police are seeking is a 2012-2016, silver Chevrolet Sonic hatchback and was in the area before and after the time Holt was killed, police said.

4. Park City man denied lung transplant in Utah because of traces of marijuana dies

Riley Hancey, who was denied a lung transplant from the University of Utah after traces of marijuana were found in his system, has died from complications following a lung transplant surgery at a hospital in Philadelphia according to his family.

Riley Hancey was suffering from a severe case of pneumonia he received around last Thanksgiving that left his lungs collapsed. He needed a lung transplant but was denied a spot on the transplant list at the University of Utah hospital because he had tested positive for THC — the main intoxicant found in marijuana.

5. Lehi man killed in crash near Saratoga Springs during fundraiser ride

A motorcyclist participating in a fundraiser ride Saturday morning was killed after colliding with an SUV, according to Saratoga Springs police.

David Mott, 62, of Lehi, was riding from Salt Lake City to Eureka, said Saratoga Springs police Cpl. Jason Ruch.

Mott was participating in the 6th annual Ride to Light Up Eureka event hosted by KSL’s Doug Wright, Intermountain Harley-Davidson and Burt Brothers Tire and Service this year. The money was being raised to go toward restoring the Elk Lodge in Eureka.

1. Johnson scores 28, Jazz beat Clippers 105-98 to even series

Joe Johnson scored 28 points, and the Utah Jazz beat the Los Angeles Clippers 105-98 on Sunday night to tie their first-round playoff series at 2-all.

2. No. 3 BYU men's volleyball to face Barton in NCAA Tournament first round

The Cougars (24-4) received an at-large bid and the No. 3 seed in next week’s NCAA Tournament, which will be played at top-ranked and defending national champion Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.

3. Vazquez secures Atlanta 3-1 win over Salt Lake with 1st goal

Brandon Vazquez scored his first MLS goal in the closing seconds of stoppage time to secure Atlanta United's 3-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night.

4. Medalist White leads BYU women's golf to consecutive WCC titles

Alex White claimed medalist honors with a 2-under-par 70 Saturday for a three-day total of 1-over 217, and the 27th-ranked BYU women’s golf team took the top three spots on the leaderboard to roll to their second-straight West Coast Conference championship at Riverside Country Club in Provo.

5. Chappell wins Texas Open by 1 stroke; Utah's Finau tied for 3rd

Kevin Chappell made an 8-foot putt on the final hole to win the Valero Texas Open by one stroke on Sunday, and former co-leader Tony Finau of Lehi dropped into a tie for third place.
