SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority is looking for individuals to serve on a citizen advisory group to advise the agency on accessibility issues for people with disabilities.
Individuals who are interested in serving on the panel — the Committee on Accessible Transportation — must reside in Box Elder, Weber, Davis, Salt Lake, Tooele or Utah counties.
The committee will meet monthly, usually on the second Monday, for approximately 2½ to 3 hours. In addition, each member is required to serve on a subcommittee that will meet at least once a month.
If selected, membership terms start in July and end in June the following year. A membership term runs for two consecutive years. Individuals may reapply for an additional two-year term. A voting member of the panel may be elected to serve only two terms or four years maximum.
Interested individuals should complete the downloadable application at ride.uta.com.
Applications are accepted throughout the calendar year and will be reviewed when openings occur. Annual terms for membership begin in July, so new applications must be received by the second Monday of May. If received after this date, applicants are held in the applicant pool and reviewed to fill terms when openings occur during the membership year.
