THE MINES — Like most reasonable humans, I try to avoid dark, enclosed spaces. It's not that I'm claustrophobic or afraid of the dark, it's just that I like my personal space, and I like to be able to see where I'm going at all times.
It is for those reasons that this video both intrigues me and terrifies me. The video shows freeride mountain biker Kilian Bron biking down the dark tunnels of an abandoned mine shaft with nothing but a headlamp to light the way. Risky, but an exciting, albeit unique, ride.
I can't condone this because it honestly looks super dangerous, but I am glad that the risk takers of the world are out there coming up with cool ideas like this.
Yesterday's Have You Seen This?
Mountain bikers, you'll love watching Bron and his friends cruise down the steep, underground tunnels that rarely see life. And everyone else, just try not to think too hard about enclosed spaces while you watch and you'll love the video too.
