SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Gov. Gary Herbert signed 51 bills Tuesday and is spending a good chunk of his Wednesday reviewing more legislation that lawmakers sent to his desk this year.
The bills Herbert's office announced had been signed Tuesday include a measure requiring college counselors and advocates to keep confidential a student's disclosure that they're a victim of sex abuse, dating violence and other issues. It creates an exception if the counselor or advocate is required to report it to authorities under other laws or if the student gives permission.
Update: I signed an additional 47 bills this afternoon, bringing the total number of signed bills to 183. 352 more to go! #utleg#utpolpic.twitter.com/dwgUVsUDrY
