NORTH LOGAN — Police identified a woman who was killed after crossing an intersection in North Logan Wednesday morning.
Dianna Jazmin Soto-Martinez, 20, was returning with a friend to a gas station convenience store they had just visited when the accident occurred. The two women walked across the intersection at 2500 N. Main Street while traffic on the road still had a green light, police said.
The driver of a Chevy, a 54-year-old man from Paradise, entered the intersection while the light was still green and did not see the women in time to avoid colliding with them.
North Park police responded to reports of the accident at around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday and the women were transported to a local hospital where Soto-Martinez was pronounced dead. Her friend was treated and has since been released.
Police are still investigating the incident.
