GREEN RIVER — Three people are dead after a rollover crash on I-70 Tuesday night, police said.

Police said Rae Marie Chapman, 66, Thomas C. Outson, 46, and Christopher Catfish Mallang, 47, all from Everett, Washington, were killed in a one-vehicle accident.

Emergency crews responded to a report of the crash near milepost 165 just east of Green River at approximately 9:24 p.m., according to Utah Highway Patrol officials.

Troopers said Chapman was driving the red Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck westbound on I-70 when the pickup drove off to the left of the roadway before overcorrecting and rolling multiple times into the median.

One of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene despite CPR attempts by medical crews. The two others in the vehicle were wearing their seat belts, but died from injuries suffered in the crash, police added.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said the three were traveling back to Everett from somewhere back East and that investigators were trying to determine to see how long they had been driving in determining if fatigue may have played a factor in the crash.
