SALT LAKE CITY — When 12-year-old Jullissa walks into a room, you can't help but look. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her laugh could draw in just about anyone.

On Wednesday at The Train Shoppe in Salt Lake City, Jullissa has her smile on full display.

"She's very active, and so we get coming to a place like this would be great for her," said Jaynie Palmer, Jullissa's caseworker.

This little girl is happy most of the time despite an uncertain future. "Her parent didn't feel that they could give her the life and services that she needed," Palmer said.

They made the difficult decision to place her in state custody, where's she remained since 2014. "She's the sweetest girl and she deserves just as much as anyone to have a family," Palmer said.

It may not be easy. "(We need) someone who is willing to commit to her for her lifetime," Palmer said.

Jullissa is autistic and often has seizures, yet Palmer is doing everything in her power to find her a family.

"We haven't gotten much interest as of yet," Palmer said.

Palmer is not giving up and believes there is a family out there ready to welcome Jullissa home.

"Somebody who is going to be willing to care for her forever and be her family forever," Palmer said.
