SALT LAKE CITY — Three more fun stories from the world of sports in today's From Left Field!
1. LeBron James Jr. is turning out to be pretty good at basketball
And perhaps that shouldn't be a surprise. But the son of NBA superstar and champion LeBron James has now turned 12, and is playing games with his NBA team, the North Coast Bluechips. This highlight video shows what he's capable of at such a young age:
He went between the legs on a layup! But it's not as if he's all flash, he also made some nice plays to get his teammates involved. This is the best highlight video I've ever seen for a 12-year-old basketball player, so sign me up on James Jr.'s basketball future.
2. The moment Ivan Rodriguez found out he made the Hall of Fame
Baseball's Hall of Fame selections were announced Wednesday, and each of the invitees got a call from the nonprofit organization letting them know that they got in. Former catcher Ivan Rodriguez put his reaction on Twitter, and it's a priceless reaction to a great culminating moment of his career.
3. Russell Westbrook's travel
Russell Westbrook just forgot to dribble the ball in the third quarter of last night's Oklahoma City vs. Golden State game, and, well, he was called for traveling as a result.
