LAYTON — Police in Layton are treating a Monday morning shooting as a homicide investigation.

Taylor Vancamp, 24, of Layton, was shot and killed in a house near 1350 East and 275 North.

About 7:30 a.m., a tenant in the residence heard a "rapid succession of gunfire" coming from the upstairs area and called 911, said Layton Police Sgt. Clint Bobrowski.

When officers arrived, they found Vancamp's body and observed at least two guns in the room where the body was found, he said.

Two men and a woman were taken to the police station for questioning. Bobrowski said detectives were still piecing together who lived in the house and who was visiting.

Investigators obtained a search warrant, intending to go through the home more extensively to look for evidence.
