SALT LAKE CITY — In case you haven’t heard, the Utah Jazz open the regular season at home Friday night.

And it’s a blue-out.

Wait … blue?

The Jazz (0-1) will welcome the Los Angeles Lakers (0-1) wearing their brand-new blue sleeved uniforms for the first time in franchise history, and will honor former Utah great Theodore “Blue” Edwards, who played for the Jazz from 1989-92.

“It’s really like coming home,” Edwards told KSL Sports. “It’s a great opportunity, and I just feel honored and blessed to be able to come back and say that I am part of the Jazz and be remembered for my days here.”

Edwards will also be on hand to sign autographs during the game, and fans are asked to wear blue Jazz gear as the former Jazz great is reunited withs several old friends.

“I’m looking forward to sit in the stands and be a fan, to experience the passion and energy of the fans from that respect,” he said.
