NORTH SALT LAKE — A Bountiful father of three was killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday.
Daniel Simon Atkin, 33, was riding a motorcycle on U.S. 89 near Center Street about 7:30 a.m. Sunday when he collided with a pickup truck, according to police. A cause of the crash was not released Tuesday. Neither speed nor impaired driving are believed to be factors, according to North Salt Lake police.
According to a memorial Facebook page set up for Atkin, he was sealed to his wife in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 2003. The couple had a son and two daughters together.
"Dan loved his family. He adored his wife and gave all for his kids. He enjoyed fixing things and mowing lawns with his son. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, wood working, country life, horses, hiking, and spending time with his kids and wife," according to his obituary. "He left a legacy of service, hard work, love, and dedication to his family and those he met. He served many, made great friends, and enjoyed the love of his siblings. His in-laws became treasured family."
