SNOWBIRD — A climber was hospitalized after surviving a fall of over 20 feet, police said on Sunday night.

Lt. Brian Lohrke of the Unified Police Department said a 34-year-old man was ice climbing in the Snowbird area when he fell about 20-30 feet.

Police said the climber nicked his artery, and a nurse who was climbing with him was able to aid him until medical crews arrived.

The climber was taken to a local hospital. Police said he was in good condition.

The identity of the injured man was not disclosed.
