TOT TOWN — Toddlers are persnickety, but that’s not always a bad thing.

Sure, it seems that more often than not that the toddlers in your acquaintance will devolve into fits and tears when you touch their favorite toy or if their cracker breaks in half. (Just ask the fine parents at Reasons My Son Is Crying if you think toddlers are always sweet angels.) That being said, sometimes the sass and demands of toddlers comes out in harmless and adorable ways.

In this video, a toddler with a great handle on the word “no” is upset with her dad for playing the maracas. But instead of a fit, this baby girl uses her best, slightly exasperated parenting voice and a wagging finger to scold dad into submission.

“No, no!” she cries as she removes the maracas from dad’s possession and places them at a “safe” distance. Then, for whatever reason, little sweet miss runs out of the room. (There’s no accounting for the whims of toddlers.)

But if toddlers will be toddlers then dads will be dads, so of course dad grabs the maracas and shakes them again. But this little girl will have none of it, and each time dad shake, shake, shakes, baby girl comes tearing around the corner to put a stop to these unconscionable shenanigans.

The more you watch, the funnier it gets.

Personally, my favorite part is a bit after the 1-minute mark when she gives her dad the sternest, dirtiest look a child of her age can muster. It is pure-dee-gold.
