NORTH SALT LAKE — A 33-year-old man is dead after a rollover crash between a pickup truck and a motorcycle Sunday morning, police said.

Emergency crews responded to a report of the crash at the intersection of U.S. 89 and Center Street at 7:30 a.m., according to North Salt Lake Police Sgt. Mitch Gwilliam.

Gwilliam said the pickup truck was traveling east on Center Street and the motorcycle was traveling north on U.S. 89 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection. The pickup truck rolled over in the crash.

The man driving the motorcycle, whose name was not immediately released, died in the collision. Gwilliam said the man was not wearing a helmet. Police later confirmed the man was a resident of Bountiful.

"A helicopter was flown in and they worked on him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene," Gwilliam said.

Gwilliam said the driver of the pickup truck was treated and released at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Gwilliam said. He said there is a light at the intersection.

He added there was no indication that speed, drugs or alcohol factored in the crash.

The intersection was closed for more than three hours as crews cleaned up the scene. The intersection reopened at around 10:45 a.m.
