SALT LAKE CITY — That was quick.

If you blinked, you may have just missed the 2016 high school football regular season.

And what a regular season it was.

On the final week, 31 teams were playing for 18 playoff spots, including a six-way tie for first in Region 2 that led to some dramatic finishes and a three-way play-in game next Tuesday.

Davis, Layton, Syracuse, Hunter, Viewmont and Granger entered Wednesday night’s season finale. Click the video to see how it all turned out.

Similar play-in games were decided in Region 4 and Region 7.

Meanwhile, at Rio Tinto Stadium, Davis won its third-straight Class 5A girls soccer title on Friday. Timpview then claimed its first 4A girls soccer championship in school history.

Logan-Juan Diego contested the 3A championship Saturday afternoon, with Waterford and Rowland Hall vying for the 2A title.
