ST. GEORGE — Hobbs Nyberg caught three touchdown passes as Dixie took control of the 3AA South region race Friday with a 31-22 win over rival Desert Hills in the KSL Game of the Week.

Jacob Barben’s third TD strike to Nyberg for 68 yards helped the Flyers to a 24-15 halftime lead, and Ammon Ah Quin’s late 2-yard TD rush sealed the win.

Nephi Sewell’s 15-yard touchdown run pulled the Thunder within 24-22, but Desert Hills could get no closer.

Lone Peak 27, American Fork 7 — At American Fork, Dakota Hansen rushed for two touchdowns as the Knights pulled away from the rival Cavemen.

BYU commit Jackson McChesney scored the only points of the first half on a 16-yard TD run, and Dakota Hansen gave the Knights a 13-0 lead shortly after the break. Hansen’s 1-yard TD scamper and Preston Lewis’ 20-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter helped seal the deal.

Bronson Barron found Dean Farrell for a 16-yard TD strike for the Cavemen. See the rest of the highlights in the video above.

Stansbury 30, Ridgeline 24 — At Ridgeline, Mitchell McIntyre threw a 36-yard touchdown pass to help the Stallions hold on to first place in the 3AA North with a road win over the RiverHawks.

McIntyre’s first TD strike went 25 yards to TJ Thomsen to give Stansbury a 10-3 lead in the second quarter, and Sitiveni Havili returned a blocked punt 40 yards for a 17-3 lead at halftime.

Cody Olsen had a 66-yard TD to pull Ridgeline within a score to open the third quarter, but it was as close as the RiverHawks would get.

Highland 42, Woods Cross 7 — At Woods Cross, James Pembroke threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Rams rolled by the Wildcats.

Pembroke’s 12-yard TD strike to Elijah Shelton gave Highland a 35-7 halftime lead, and the Ram defense shut out the Wildcats the rest of the way.

Judge Samuelu hauled in a 66-yard TD strike from Ashton Fornelius to account for Woods Cross’ scoring.

Duchesne 35, Layton Christian 20 — At Layton Christian, Weston Poulson rushed for a pair of touchdowns to help Duchesne pull away from a 14-14 halftime tie en route to the win.

Poulson’s 14-yard TD run and a 30-yard pick-six by Kade Lamborn helped Duchesne out-score the hosts 14-0 in the final quarter to pull away.

Braxton Llewelyn threw for three touchdowns, including two to Pedro Silva, to lead Layton Christian.
