BEAVER — Division of Wildlife Resources conservation officers are seeking the public’s help identifying the person responsible for illegally killing a buck deer near Beaver.
DWR officers were alerted to the killing and began investigating on Aug. 30. The 17-inch wide, 3x3 buck deer was discovered in a field just north of Beaver, according to DWR, and investigators were able to locate tire tread marks that led up to and away from the dead carcass.
Officials believe the buck was shot and killed sometime between Aug. 27 and Aug. 29 and left to waste.
DWR officials are seeking any information regarding the poaching of the buck. Anyone with information can call the UTIP hotline at 1-800-662-3337 or email the information to toturninapoacher@utah.gov.
