PROVO — Police say they are trying to identify a man who groped three women Monday morning in a series of "brazen" sexual assaults along the Provo River Parkway.

The women were running along the trail near 3700 N. University Ave. around 6:30 a.m. when they were groped, according to investigators.

"The suspect, who was also running, would act like he wanted to give the victim a high-five or shake their hand," Provo police said in a statement on Facebook. "Once the victim went to reciprocate the action, the suspect would then use this as an opportunity to grope them. … The criminal was so brazen that one of the victims was running with a partner at the time of the assault."

The groper is described as a white man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and in his mid- to early 20s with a medium build, a short beard and short blonde hair. He was wearing black track pants or tights, a dark shirt and a jacket tied to his waist.

The man didn't speak in any of the incidents, all of which were brief, Provo police said.

"The suspect did not attempt to restrain any of the victims," the agency said.

Anyone with additional information about the case, including witnesses or additional victims, is asked to call Provo police at 801-852-6210.
