MURRAY — Two men who kicked in the front door of Murray home needed only three minutes inside to make off with thousands in electronics and jewelry Saturday in a daylight burglary that was caught on camera.

"They were pretty young," said Micaela Choo, who owns the home near 6100 South and Jeremy Bend Circle. "They had their hands in their pockets. It looked like they were putting things in their pockets."

Once inside the house, the pair moved fast. They rifled through drawers in the master bedroom and bathroom, taking tablet computers, watches, jewelry and a British passport that belongs to Choo's husband. The thieves also took a jewelry box that belongs to the couple's young daughter, a computer hard drive and a curved 3-D HDTV from the front room.

"It's definitely a sense of violation and it doesn't make your family feel safe, especially once you see (the thieves') faces," Choo said. "They just kind of look around and then help themselves."

Choo's husband did receive an alert on his phone from a small security camera set up in the family's kitchen while the burglars were still in the house. The only problem: He was on a call at the time.

"He was close by so he didn't really feel the need to hang up the phone and just look at the notification," Choo said.

It turns out Choo's husband missed the thieves by only about 10 minutes. Choo is grateful things turned out that way.

"You just never know if they're high, if they're armed, if they have a knife, what's going to happen," she said. "The police said they probably would have just fled, but if you confront them, they may try to fight back."

Choo and her husband, who have had another home burglarized in the past, don't expect to get any of their stolen property back. They simply hope the video they turned over to Murray police will help investigators catch the men who stole from them before they steal from someone else.

"It is HD quality. If police show it to the various jurisdictions, that would be great," Choo said. "Maybe these thieves have been known to police before. It's probably not their first rodeo."
