SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake man was shot in the leg early Sunday.

About 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired at 1630 W. Ivy Circle (650 North).

"When officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the street and we found several bullet holes into the door of apartment No. 1," said Salt Lake Police Lt. Mike Ross.

No one was home in the apartment. But a short time later, police received a call from a man who said he was driving the tenant of that apartment, a 34-year-old man, to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.

The injuries are not life threatening, Ross said. The department's gang detectives are investigating the case. Investigators did not have any potential suspect information as of Sunday and had not received a lot of details from the victim, he said.
