PROVO — This week has been an eventful week for a lowly bike rack on the campus of Brigham Young University.

Nestled on the south side of the Talmage Building (home to the math department on campus), this unsuspecting bike rack garnered local fame when a handful of presumed students started giving the rack star ratings through Google Maps. But it wasn’t until people started leaving actual reviews that this now infamous bike rack really started grabbing attention.

Some were disappointed that all the bikes were chained to the bike rack, giving the Talmadge rack (or TR) a cruel one-star review. But I would like to point out, Ms. Alexandra Greenwood, locked bikes are hardly TR’s fault. If anything, that is user error, and I suggest a picketing campaign led by you to help correct others’ proper use of a bike rack.

Others could not get enough of how perfectly TR does its job and improves the quality of life for the user.

“I LITERALLY sold my car just so that I could buy a bike and park it at this rack. Life has never been better,” said reviewer Matthew Clayton.

Even marriage is possible through the magic of TR.

“I met my husband at this bike rack when our ward was having an FHE (family home evening) activity playing capture the flag. This bike rack literally changed my life. Thank you bike rack,” said Jessica Chevrier.

If you are into celebrity watching, reviewer Grant Lerdahl claims he saw Jimmer — yes, THE Jimmer — walk by this very bike rack. So don’t forget to set your cameras to “paparazzi” if your journey takes you past TR.

With an average rating of 4.7 stars as of Saturday morning, this local celebrity has obviously pedaled its way into the hearts of BYU students and perhaps the world.

Continue reading the reviews here. If you’ve ever visited TR, feel free to post your own exultant or spiteful review.
