Editor's Note: This video was created as part of the “Big Foot in Utah Video Scholarship Contest” sponsored by McCoard’s Garden Center in conjunction with their corn maze. PROVO — You can add another video to the growing list of local Bigfoot "footage."

First, there was the video shot in Provo Canyon back in 2012. Then, there was the alleged sighting in Payson Canyon. Now, a family in Provo has uploaded footage to YouTube that they claim shows Bigfoot near Utah Lake.

"As I was driving to the Provo airport, my daughter was playing with her iPad," YouTube user Jane Everett wrote in the video's description. "I think she caught Bigfoot running into a corn field! Now I'm a believer!"

The 37-second clip was shot entirely from the inside of the family's car. The girl filming the video comments on the beauty of the sunset. Trees and telephone poles pass by the window of the vehicle as it makes its way along the road.

Then, at the 32-second mark, a dark figure is seen in a cornfield. Was it a farmer? A local resident out for a walk? Or perhaps a Bigfoot-like creature trying to locate the Provo airport?

A brief history of Bigfoot

Bigfoot is often described as a large, hairy creature, between 6 and 10 feet tall and weighing at least 500 pounds. Footprints alleged to be Bigfoot's have been as large as 24-inches long and 8-inches wide.

Although stories about a Bigfoot-like creature were around before the mid-20th century, it was in the 1950s that the legend entered into popular consciousness.

In 1951, Eric Shipton photographed what he described as a Yeti footprint. The photograph allowed the idea of a Yeti to enter popular consciousness. In 1958, Gerald Crew found large footprints in California and eventually had the prints cast in plaster to help his credibility. The story gained international attention upon being picked up by the Associated Press.

Since that time, numerous Bigfoot sightings have been reported, although none have been proven. Scientists largely discount Bigfoot as a myth.

What do you think? Is this video simply the latest entry in a long line of Bigfoot hoaxes? Or do you think it could actually show evidence of the elusive creature? Let us know in the comments.
