St. George Mayor Jon Pike said in a statement that he is "excited about the economic opportunities that this American Airlines Phoenix flight will bring to our region."

Flights from St. George Regional Airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will depart every day at 8 a.m. local time. Flights in the other direction are to depart at 5 p.m. local time.

The flights are expected to be about 65 minutes long.
