CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Keeshya Cox had brought the Utah Falconz to the brink of an Independent Women’s Football League title a year ago, but the Salt Lake-based team fell in the title game.
She wasn’t about to let that happen again.
Cox scored three touchdowns, including the opener on a 20-yard option, and the top-ranked Falconz went on to roll the previously unbeaten Minnesota Vixen, 49-6, in the semiprofessional league’s championship final in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Cox added her second touchdown on the next drive of the game, a 36-yard scoring splash that ended with a 2-point conversion to go up 15-0, and the rout was on.
Lyndi Prestgard added a score for the Falconz. Victoria Sequerious returned a punt for another Falconz TD.
