BELIEVE-LAND — The city of San Diego is now in the biggest pro championship drought in America after the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 93-89 win over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night.

The win marks the first pro sports title since 1964 for the northeastern Ohio city, which was previously the longest in American pro sports history.

But that was only the beginning of the story. Here’s what you may have missed, and click the video above for a few more of our favorite plays from the weekend.

Of fire trucks and donkeys

Even before LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were finished cutting down the nets at Oracle Arena, the city of Cleveland was in an uproar.

Initial reports showed one crime via a police scanner:

We get that it’s been a long time, Cleveland. But stealing a fire truck within minutes of the Cavs’ NBA title? Surely, that’s the worst of it in Ohio, right?

Fans have stolen a fire truck, a bud light truck, and there is a naked man riding a donkey through the city. Oh god bless Cleveland. — cain schneckenberger (@THErealCberger) June 20, 2016

Cleveland Police later dispelled the story, saying the fire truck was not stolen. But still, you do you, Believe-land. Have a party.

Melano takes a swim ===================

Not every soccer player dives after the most incidental of contact.

But Portland’s Lucas Melano was not one of those players in the Timbers’ 2-2 draw Saturday night with Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Melano was caught tumbling after a light shove from RSL’s Chris Wingert — but the effort wasn’t enough to draw the attention of the official.

Melano’s full effort earned a 27 — it was the French judge that give him a 6.

Johnson’s non-foul not cried foul

Dustin Johnson took a three-stroke lead into the final hole of the U.S. Open, but his major win Sunday was almost overshadowed by a rules infraction that wasn’t immediately called.

Prior to Johnson’s putt on the par-4, 382-yard fifth hole, the No. 6-ranked golfer in the world appeared to nudge his ball. After consulting with a USGA rules official, he finished the hole and proceeded to the next green. After he finished, the organization informed Johnson that they wanted to review film of the incident with him to determine if he deserved a one-stroke penalty for the infraction.

In the end, Johnson finished with a four-day total of 276, and the ruling had no impact on the final leaderboard.
