Mailman fired after Pleasant Grove woman discovers dumpster of undelivered mail

A Pleasant Grove woman said she saw a mailman throwing away hundreds of pieces of unopened mail into a dumpster. She returned it to the post office. Now, it's a federal investigation.

Police ID 15-year-old who died in cliff jumping accident at Lake Mary

Unified police have identified the Sandy girl who drowned in a cliff jumping accident in Lake Mary Friday.

Unified police said Anya Ng, 15, jumped from a rock around 4 p.m. at the lake, which is southeast of Brighton Resort, when she either awkwardly leaped or slipped, Unified police detective Ken Hansen said.

10-year-old boy killed in rollover crash on I-84

A Washington state boy died and another boy was seriously injured after a rollover accident on I-84 Saturday night, police said.

Police said a 10-year-old boy was ejected and a 9-year-old boy was partially ejected from a van in a one-vehicle rollover accident. Both were not wearing seat belts, officials said.

The 10-year-old, who UHP identified as Tony N. Orlov of Lake Stevens, Washington, died at the scene, according to police. UHP added the 9-year-old was taken by a medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in serious condition, but was stabilized.

'Fearful' restaurateur changed locks, installed cameras before he was killed, warrant says

John Williams had asked a friend and longtime employee to help him change the electronic locks on his Capitol Hill home about two weeks before he was killed, "to keep Craig Crawford out of the house."

That information was detailed in a recently unsealed search warrant affidavit filed in 3rd District Court.

Crawford, 47, was charged last week with aggravated murder and aggravated arson, first-degree felonies, in the death of his estranged husband, Williams, a prominent restaurateur.

Sheriff's office names deputy who shot man threatening to kill teen girl

Investigators on Saturday identified the deputy who shot and killed Daniel Bennett Edwards last weekend after the man who was holding his teenage niece hostage threatened to kill her.

Utah County sheriff's deputy Brett Lawrenson fired one shot at Edwards, 23, striking him in the head on June 12. After refusing to comply with orders, investigators say Edwards had began to count down from the number 60, saying he intended to kill his wife's 17-year-old niece whom he was holding hostage at knifepoint.

Thompson wins unanimously vs MacDonald at UFC 89; Utah's O'Connell falls to Bosse

Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson won a unanimous five-round decision over Rory "Red King" MacDonald in a battle of top welterweight contenders at UFC Fight Night 89 on Saturday night. Earlier, light-heavyweight Steve Bosse (12-2-0) of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec, won a 29-28, 29-28, 29-27 decision over Sean O'Connell (17-8-0) in a wild slugfest in which both men threw and absorbed big hits.
