PAYSON — KSL Golf is at Gladstan golf course in Payson ahead of the Gladstone Amateur this Saturday. Clark Rustand is the defending champion after shooting even-par last year to win the event.

Jim Furyk stopped by to help preview the U.S. Open and Father’s Day, a holiday that holds a special place in his heart.

The PGA Tour will crown a national champion at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, an honor that Furyk won in 2003 and finished second in 2007 at Oakmont.

Furyk talks about the U.S. Open, the influence of his father Mike on his life — both personally and professionally — and the local Utahns on Tour in 2016 in Danny Summerhays, Zac Blair and Tony Finau.

BYU coach Dave Rose also gave an update about his battle with pancreatic cancer after hitting the ceremonial tee shot at Golf to Eradicate Cancer tournament in Alpine. Rose was joined by Utah Gov. Gary Herbert at the event. The full interview is in the video above.
