PROVO — From quail eggs to caskets, local vendors at area farmers markets seem to provide a bit of everything for Utah County residents.

The Porter family homesteads a farm in Antimony, Garfield County, where they produce a variety of products including quail and duck eggs, berries, rabbits, poultry and recently, caskets.

Porter Family Farms is one of many vendors to sell products at the Provo Farmers Market each Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 500 W. Center, through Oct. 29. The Provo market is one of many Utah County markets available to families during the warm summer months.

This is the 11th year for the Provo Farmers Market, a nonprofit corporation that uses its proceeds to enhance education in the Provo area, according to its website. The market provides a venue for the sale of locally grown products, encourages civic and nonprofit outreach, and promotes entrepreneurship in the community.

The market also features local vendors who sell items ranging from handmade bandana bibs to custom-made soaps and lotions.

Utah County is also home to various outdoor concert series' free to the public.

  • Provo will host its 7th annual Rooftop Concert Series at 100 W. Center at 7:30 p.m. on the first Friday of each month through September.
  • The Summer Band Series, hosted by the Covey Center for the Arts, will also appear in Provo at North Park, 500 N. 500 West, on Sundays in June.
  • American Fork will host its annual outdoor summer concert series at the Quail Cove Amphitheatre every Monday evening from June 6 to Aug 1. The concerts are free of charge, except on July 4, when patrons are asked to bring donations to the Valor House.
