COLUMBIA, Mo. — The BYU softball team’s season ended Friday after a pair of elimination games at the NCAA Regional hosted by Missouri.

In the opener, BYU scored three runs in the third inning to come from behind and beat Louisville, 6-4. Gordy Bravo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Cougars (36-20), who also got two hits apiece from Lauren Bell, Libby Sugg, Caitlyn Larsen and Coco Bond.

McKenna Bull struck out five with one walk in the complete-game effort against the Cardinals for BYU.

In the second game, BYU fell behind, 2-0, after Nebraska’s four-hit first inning and never got going en route to the shutout loss.

Mattie Fowler opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning, and MJ Knighten scored from second on the next batter to account for all the scoring.

The Cougars threatened in the second when Alexa Strid and Sugg advanced to second and third, but BYU left both runners stranded and could get no closer in the loss.
