Wearing a wedding ring is a simple way to let the world know you’re in a committed relationship, and many people wear them day in and day out. However, your husband may want to show his commitment to you, but he doesn’t want to wear his ring.

Here are 10 reasons why.

He works with his hands

From firefighter to father, nurse to chef, engineer to artist, these careers put fingers and rings in messy situations. Rigid rings get in the way and are tricky to clean. If your man works with his hands, he may choose to leave his ring at home or his job may not let him wear a metal band.

He’s afraid of losing a finger

Whether it is due to work or play, your husband might have accidents involving his hand. His finger would survive – were it not for the ring in his way. Emergency personnel may have to cut off his ring and, when the metal cannot be cut, the finger has to go. It’s frightening, it happens, and a silicone ring could save that precious finger.

He has a metal allergy

If your husband is allergic to metal, the itchiness starts soon after he puts on his wedding ring. Allergies are irritating, so help your guy with a hypoallergenic and nontoxic ring.

Wearing a ring is uncomfortable

Many people have large knuckles, and your husband may not like the feeling of scraping the ring over his knuckle to fit at the base of his finger. Additionally, a hard ring sitting on his hand all day could be too much discomfort to handle.

He doesn’t want an injury

Ring avulsion is rare, but that hardly matters when your husband is the one who suffers. His ring could catch on something, yanking his finger in a way that could cause something as small as bruising or as serious as amputation. Avoid the horror by giving a ring with Anti Ring Avulsion Technology. Caution: Ring avulsion may cause revulsion, so don’t search for it online unless you have a strong stomach for graphic images.

Exercise and jewelry don’t mix

If your man loves working out at the gym or spending time outdoors, he may not like to wear his ring. It’s uncomfortable when he’s sweaty and gripping weights. If he’s doing pull ups or gripping barbells, his ring will pinch his skin and make exercise uncomfortable.

He wants a ring for traveling

Some people prefer their traditional wedding ring for most days but are afraid to take it out of town, for fear of losing it in a place it will never be found. A low-cost alternative allows your husband to wear his ring without fearing the financial anxiety of losing an expensive piece of jewelry.

He loses everything

Losing a wedding ring is the worst. You don’t want to throw away your money, and that’s exactly what happens when something so small is suddenly gone. An inexpensive wedding ring is the best solution.

It’s time for a modern look

Wedding rings are an old tradition and your husband, no matter his age, may want a modern take. With unique material in the equation, a new ring could have a cool color and design that’s perfect for the modern man.

He wants a ring that gives back

No need to worry about the ethics of your jewelry. Companies like Enso Rings offer rings that feel comfortable and are safe. Not only that, the company has committed to giving to Global Citizen, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the National Wildlife Federation with every ring you buy.

“We strongly believe in working to make the world a better place,” the company says on its website. “From Day One, Enso Rings decided that a portion of each ring sold would be donated to organizations around the globe that are working to protect our planet and solve problems like hunger, poverty, and disease.”
