SALT LAKE CITY — This past weekend, many residents probably felt more like they were Dorothy living in Kansas than in Utah.

While our windstorm didn’t transport us to the Emerald City, it did do a lot of damage throughout Davis and Weber counties. Broken trees, torn-down fences and mangled trampolines were left scattered around several cities, and the wind knocked out power to about 39,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers for several days.

A lot of residents took photos of the damage and submitted them for this week’s gallery.

There were also several large structure fires that caused black smoke in several areas around Utah during the past week. A few people snapped photos of a plant fire on U.S. 111 and others got pictures of the refinery fire in Wood Cross April 26.
