SALT LAKE CITY — Police took three men into custody Sunday after gunshots were fired in Liberty Park.
Officers arrived at the park just after 4 p.m. to find two or three men chasing the men who allegedly fired the shots, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Heiden. Police also gave chase and were eventually able to apprehend all three men.
Heiden said police don't believe anyone was injured.
"From what we can tell we think it may have been some sort of a robbery at the beginning. That's when those witnesses stepped in and started to chase those males and kept us updated on their description and where they went," she said.
Police recovered a weapon and are trying to determine if it was the one that was fired, Heiden said.
