Editor’s Note: This article was modified to reflect that the bee in the video is a solitary working mason bee, not a honeybee. THE HIVE — As residents of The Beehive State, we know a thing or two about bees.

We know they’re industrious and productive, and we know they make hives wherever they want. Once a hive is established, there’s no stopping a bee from trying to get back to its home.

So it’s no surprise that the mason bee in this video is doing whatever it takes to get into its presumed hive. And what does it do, you ask? Well, it pulls a nail out of a brick wall to clear the path for home.

Sure, the nail wasn’t hammered in tightly, but it was flush with the wall and it probably weighs more than the bee, increasing the impressive nature of, well, nature. To top it all off, the bee completes its feat of strength and determination in less than a minute.

I’m sure there’s some metaphor of creativity and industry that could be cleverly stated and used to inspire thousands across the internet, but I will fully admit that I’m not nearly as clever or industrious as any given bee. Heck, I’m lucky if I decide to move my arm more than six inches to grab the remote. Basically you’re welcome for the entertaining video, but you’re on your own for inspiration.

The video was first posted in 2012, but it recently resurfaced, garnering new and well-deserved attention.
